I really liked the first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again, but man, does this show have weird politics. Fisk is presented as something of a Trumpian outsider populist (albeit a more cogent and articulate one), but the show's attitudes towards crime, vigilantes, and the NYPD are outdated, veering between outright cynicism and pure copaganda.

I really like convoluted multimedia franchises where if you watched the 2008 Hulk movie and not a single #MCU film but you did keep up with #comics and knew about Sam Wilson that way this movie would make total sense. I think that in terms of the franchise's reputation of tedious self reference this represents an improvement

I think that the plotline about the newly elected president being shady is... topical... I doubt it was intended that way.

But I do like that they clearly decided to model the film on Winter Soldier and to go with the proven formula of Captain America + Jason Bourne. #mcu #marvel

Honestly, my big complaint was that this was the second time the MCU took something I loved from Hulk comics and put it in someone else’s movie. Last time was Planet Hulk, of course. This time I don’t mean Red Hulk—I read a few of his comics, they were terrible. I mean

“Mr. Blue.”
