Ricardo Harvin
We're All Going to the World's Fair is basically a one woman quiet, weird, contemplative tour de force that's not at all what I was expecting.

A lot of interesting shots, including a slick long take, done with a handheld camera that fits perfectly with the story.

Melancholic and hopeful, it's billed as horror, but it's not. Rob 🏳️‍🌈 RMiddleton.Art
I just watched Mank #movie on Netflix. I have enjoyed the thought voyage I've taken with this movie. As often happens with home viewing I took pauses. It's based on real people & I also did supplemental research.

Btw I don't have Netflix. I'm house sitting. Netflix steals the joy of letting a meaningful impression sink in. Every movie ends with Netflix causing panic: 15 seconds counting down to some noisy previews. There may be setting options but zero time to reflect is no doubt the default.

Count me in, I love seeing films at the cinema. One of the more affordable art forms too.

'Most Academy Award acceptance speeches are filled with thanks to the winner’s family, agent, colleagues or God – but this week the Oscar-winning director of Anora Sean Baker used his to deliver a call to cinematic arms.

'“Watching a film in the theatre with an audience is an experience; we can laugh together, cry together, scream and fright together, perhaps sit in devastated silence together, and in a time in which the world can feel very divided, this is more important than ever,” Baker said.

'“Please watch movies in the theatre, and let’s keep the great tradition of the movie-going experience alive and well.”'
