@drcaberry Imagining how I'd feel if I was referred to as an programmer at work... :O

@drcaberry Yes, I'm realizing it's a bit dubious.

On one hand, I do need certain support and need to be accepted as an autistic, but on the other hand, that sometimes goes over board and "helpful" people tries to "fix" me.

Though, it would be wonderful to just be able to be a programmer and have all the rest as a normal part of work interactions. Like someone finally realized how much minorities actually contributes to redefining "life in the box"... (and how vital that is...)

@erk709 Also think about how your unique perspective impacts the way that you work, engage with people, think about project, diversity in thought, culture, ethnicity, background, socioecomonic experience make for a better product. It is not fair to have to negate any parts of who you are because of how someone else thinks or feel about that.

@drcaberry Yes. Having many different thoughts now. But I think it may all boil down to the difference between negating and negotiating. There's always a negotiation in a group or between two people on who/how they should be and that should (must?) always be a compromise. At least that's what I see and I don't even want to bring all of myself to work... private persona versus public and all. But as you say, there is a lot of untapped potential, due to ignorance/inertia, maybe both.
