Prior to that, most people viewed individuality very differently especially in Marx's time and this modern version of <a href="https://friendica.myportal.social/search?tag=individualism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#individualism</a> would be weird AF in his time. In fact Walden was written shortly after and what he described as solitude, was just living on the edge of the village by himself, and his mom came around and took care of him and he had visitors all the time fascinated that he was living "alone", almost like a freak show. It wasn't the solitude we think of remotely today, a social butterfly compared to many of us. In fact one of the reasons anarchist Catalonia and Ukraine as well as the <a href="https://friendica.myportal.social/search?tag=pariscommune" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#pariscommune</a> thrived as much as they did is they lived in sustainable close knit <a href="https://friendica.myportal.social/search?tag=community" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#community</a>, this was just normal. Meanwhile we have lost all ability to organize around sustainable community which is why the left can't organize its way out of a wet paper bag.
