Are we going to talk about how Diddy invested millions into the Twitter acquisition rather than investing in Black owned-businesses or nah?
I haven't seen anyone talk about this within the community. It's very interesting when you consider how Twitter is failing rn.
#blacktwitter #blackmastadon #blackownedbusinesses #blackfediverse #Twitter #TwitterFire
@Nassaire He helped Elon fund the acquisition
@jasminediaz oop! Good point! But on the same note, have we ever known Diddy to take care of his investments (artists)?
@mikey touche'
NYC politics
@jasminediaz It’s a similar sentiment I feel whenever a Latinx politician in NYC starts glad handing the White centrist politician. Then eventually starts to vote against the policies that had originally elected them to their position by the community. Growing tired of the aspirations to attain the status of proximity to whiteness.
@nisadani hubby and I have this convo regularly. He is Puerto Rican and part of his family votes R. The sense of betrayal... It's like why?
@jasminediaz Reminded me of the many Dominican men telling me they’re voting for Trump. I’m like why? He doesn’t care about you, ugh.
Racial identity
@jasminediaz It truly does and it’s sad that our communities continue to look toward capitalism as means to elevate ourselves when it’s often employs tool of white supremacy that only perpetuates the inequality.
@nisadani all of this agree
@jasminediaz I did not know about that. What an incredible waste of money.
@jasminediaz Guess he thought he was good on Black folx after Howard gave him an honorary doctorate and he gave them some cash...
@jasminediaz he was supporting an… african american businessman
@jasminediaz he’s only ever been about money, a true capitalist and only cares about the community when it fits the narrative
