Science students from across Manitoba First Nations show off research at science fair
Future scientists from across Manitoba First Nations are looking to make an impact. The students are showcasing projects that one day might save the world, or, at the very least, make someone's life a little bit better. CBC's Matt Humphrey checked out the Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre's science fair.

Based on Ford’s press conference today it would be safe to assume he has a wee crush on Manitoba’s premiere Wab Kinew. Multiple times he brought up how great he thought Wab was. He also praised Trudeau’s work and welcomed Carney as Liberal party leader with open arms.

On the other hand, he challenged Danielle Smith to do what’s right for Canadians and implement an export tax for all energy going to the US from Alberta.

A warm spell in December 2024 delayed the onset of winter. January brought frigid, polar-vortex-cold days, but temperatures quickly climbed back to above-average heights. Last winter was the warmest on record in Canada, and while this can be attributed in part to a normal El Niño cycle, which brings warmer, drier conditions, it’s indicative of a creeping trend for winter on the Prairies

👍 Manitoba government moves first encampment resident into home as part of project

"The province has promised to eliminate chronic homelessness — people who are unhoused for several months or more — in the next seven years. A major part of its plan is to remove the estimated 700 people living in encampments.
Part of the plan, announced last month, includes buying apartment buildings so people living in encampments have immediate access to secure housing.
Several buildings are being bought and renovated, and the province aims to partner with municipalities and agencies to offer support services, such as addiction treatment. "
